Oklahoma Earthquakes Class Action Settlement

What Is the Freedom Oklahoma Earthquake Settlement About?

This lawsuit alleges that several oil and gas companies operated wastewater disposal wells that contributed to increased seismic activity in Oklahoma. Plaintiffs claim that these disposal wells played a role in causing the 5.1 magnitude earthquake near Prague, Oklahoma on February 2, 2024, along with other earthquakes that occurred across the state between January 19, 2019 and the Effective Date. Although the defendants deny wrongdoing, they agreed to settlements to resolve claims related to earthquake damage during this period.

How Much Is the Freedom Oklahoma Earthquake Settlement Payout?

If you're eligible and file a claim, you may receive a cash payment from the $555,000 total settlement fund, depending on how many people file.

The final payout amount will vary based on:

  • The number of valid claims submitted
  • The extent of reported earthquake damage
  • Court-approved fees and administrative costs

Payments will be distributed on a pro-rata basis once the court grants final approval.
