Settlemate Refund Policy

Effective Date: May 17, 2025

At Settlemate, we believe our value should be tangible, measurable, and fair. Our Refund Policy is designed to protect your investment in our platform and reflect our commitment to customer satisfaction. If Settlemate fails to help you recover more than you spend during your first year of service, you may be eligible for a refund under our Money-Back Guarantee, subject to the conditions outlined below.

1. Money-Back Guarantee

Settlemate offers a money-back guarantee to first-time users during their initial twelve (12) months of paid service. This guarantee applies regardless of whether you select a monthly, annual, or one-time payment plan. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that your subscription delivers more financial benefit than it costs. If that outcome is not achieved, we will refund your subscription fee, subject to the terms in this document.

The Money-Back Guarantee reflects our belief that Settlemate should pay for itself. If you pay us and do not receive at least an equal or greater amount in class action payouts, refunds, or financial savings facilitated by the platform during your first year, you may request a refund for the amount you paid to Settlemate.

2. Eligibility for Refund

To qualify for a refund under this policy, all of the following conditions must be met without exception:

First, you must have made a valid payment for Settlemate services. This includes any subscription type—whether monthly, annual, or a one-time access purchase—processed directly through our app, website, or authorized payment provider.

Second, during your first twelve (12) months of continuous service following your initial payment date, your cumulative financial benefit from Settlemate (such as successful claim payouts, reimbursements, or price adjustment refunds) must not exceed the total amount paid to Settlemate. In other words, your net benefit from the platform must be negative to qualify.

Third, you must submit your refund request no later than thirty (30) calendar days after the conclusion of the twelve-month eligibility window. Requests made before twelve months of service or after the thirty-day submission window will not be considered.

Each account is eligible for this refund only once. Re-subscribing or creating multiple accounts does not reset refund eligibility.

3. How to Request a Refund

To initiate a refund request, you must send an email to support@settlemate.app with the subject line "Refund Request". Your email must include the following information:

Your full name and the email address associated with your Settlemate account;

The date of your original subscription payment (or attach the receipt);

A brief explanation or context if helpful—for example, your estimated financial recovery through the platform or why you believe you qualify.

Once we receive your request, our team will review it in good faith. We aim to respond within five (5) business days. If your refund is approved, the funds will be returned to your original method of payment within ten (10) business days. Please note that Settlemate may request additional documentation to verify claim eligibility if needed.

4. Exclusions and Denial Criteria

Settlemate reserves the right to deny refund requests under this policy for any of the following reasons:

If your account has received class action distributions, reimbursements, price adjustments, or other Settlemate-facilitated payouts that collectively equal or exceed your total subscription cost, your refund request will be denied.

If the request is submitted more than thirty (30) days after your twelve-month eligibility period has ended, we will not be able to process a refund—even if you otherwise qualify.

If we detect abuse of the platform, including but not limited to submitting fraudulent claims, creating duplicate accounts, or violating our Terms of Service, your refund request will be denied regardless of financial benefit.

If you have previously received a refund under this policy, your account will be permanently ineligible for future refunds—even if you resubscribe.

We reserve the right to investigate all refund requests to determine legitimacy and compliance with our policies.

5. Scope and Limitations

This refund policy applies exclusively to payments made directly to Settlemate, whether through our mobile application or website. It does not cover any fees charged by third-party vendors, such as government claim filing fees, payment processor transaction fees, mobile app store commissions, or products purchased through affiliate offers or partner links.

Refunds cannot be granted for services provided or processed by other entities—even if such services were accessed through the Settlemate platform.

In no case shall Settlemate be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses associated with denied claims, processing delays, or eligibility disputes. Our refund liability is strictly limited to the total amount you paid to Settlemate for subscription access during your initial twelve-month period of service.

6. Final Review and Discretion

Settlemate will assess refund eligibility based on the data available in your account history, including claim records, payout tracking, and engagement metrics. We reserve the right to make reasonable determinations based on incomplete information where necessary. Refunds issued under this policy are final and will not be re-evaluated.

This policy does not create a legally binding right to refund beyond what is stated here. We offer it as a customer benefit and may amend or discontinue the policy in the future, though changes will not affect refund rights accrued under prior terms.
