JetBack review: Pricing, data access, and the fine print

JetBack is a flights monitoring app that can request this compensation for you. But is it worth subscribing to?

Here’s how JetBack says it their service works:

1. You download the JetBack app on the App Store or Google Play.
2. You set up your account and connect the email address you use for bookings.
3. You forward your flight confirmation once, right after booking. 
4. JetBack tracks that itinerary’s fare continuously until departure. 
5. If the price drops, JetBack files a credit or refund claim directly with the airline. 
6. You get notified once a credit or refund has been secured. 

Note: If prices drop multiple times before your flight, JetBack will secure a refund or credit for every instance. 

Is the Jetback app legit?

In short, yes. 

JetBack is a fairly new subscription app launched in July 2025. The company behind it is JetBack Flight Tracking, LLC, registered in Seattle, Washington. 

Automated scam-checking tools rate this domain as low-risk with no major red flags. ScamAdvisor’s trust score for the getjetback.com domain is 86. 

JetBack doesn’t have a Trustpilot page yet, and user reviews are still limited. This is also a relatively young domain, only about a year old. None of this is a scam signal, but a typical situation for any startup at this stage.

JetBack App Review: What you need to consider?

The way JetBack works sounds simple enough. You forward your confirmation email, it monitors your flight, and you get your money back once the fare drops. But before you hit the Download button and share your credit card details, let’s explore four key aspects:

1. Cost
2. Coverage
3. Data safety
4. Refund process

How much does the JetBack app cost?

JetBack charges $99.99 a year for unlimited monitoring, credits, and refunds, with no caps or hidden fees.

The company also offers a referral program. If someone signs up using your personal referral link (which you can find in the app), they receive $15 off their membership, and you receive a $15 gift card once the subscription is activated. 

If there is a charge higher than $99.99, JetBack states that it may be the result of multiple App Store purchases combined into a single transaction or additional taxes. The company suggests visiting your Apple Purchase history to review the complete breakdown of the charge.

JetBack also advertises a money-back guarantee, promising that users who don’t receive savings totaling at least the subscription fee during the applicable period are entitled to a full refund.

To qualify, you must:

• Have purchased a paid JetBack subscription during the 2025 calendar year 
• Be within your first subscription term (renewals aren’t eligible)
• Have paid for the subscription rather than receiving it as part of a free trial or promotion
• Not have received a refund, chargeback, or payment reversal through Apple, Google, or another payment processor

For anyone subscribing in 2026 or later, these terms make the guarantee irrelevant. The program applies only to subscriptions purchased during 2025, so it shouldn’t be considered part of the value proposition for new subscribers.

Which flights does JetBack cover?

Not every booking qualifies for monitoring, but JetBack’s own FAQ page contradicts itself on where the line is drawn. 

What’s certain is that coverage is limited to major U.S. airlines, including:

• United
• Delta
• American
• Southwest
• JetBlue
• Alaska

Codeshare bookings and international flights are included too, as long as the ticket was booked through a US-based carrier. 

JetBack points out that insistence on booking through the U.S. Airlines' own website is for tracking purposes. This implies that booking elsewhere (e.g., through a third-party online travel agency) may not be reliably monitored, even on a supported airline. 

Here’s where eligibility gets unclear. 

On its homepage, JetBack explicitly states that it supports Economy class booking and above. Basic Economy and Saver fares currently aren’t eligible. 

However, a separate answer on the dedicated FAQ page says that JetBack can monitor Basic Economy tickets for price drops. The app does warn that these fares carry more restrictions and that airline policies on post-booking adjustments vary, so it can’t guarantee the ability to secure credits.

The homepage also says that points and miles bookings aren’t supported either, but the FAQ page says that JetBack will file a claim when an award price drops and return the difference directly to your mileage account. 

Conflicting information across multiple pages is a drawback for a subscription product. You should be able to seamlessly determine whether your typical booking qualifies. 

Additionally, these inconsistencies affect trust. When a company gives conflicting answers to basic questions, it’s difficult to know which policy will apply when you claim a travel credit.

Is your data safe with JetBack?

JetBack says it uses “industry-standard encryption and security practices” to protect user data, but it doesn’t specify what those measures are or where customer data is stored. 

According to its Privacy Policy, JetBack collects:

• Personal information, including your anime, email, and user ID
• App activity and interaction data
• Diagnostics
• Device and other identifiers

Its App Store listing states that the data is encrypted in transit, isn’t shared with third parties, and can be deleted upon request.

For a subscription app, that’s a relatively limited set of disclosed data practices. 

How does JetBack secure refunds and credits?

Once Jetback notices a price drop, it files a claim, and the airline issues a refund or credit directly to you. 

The type of compensation depends on your fare and the airline’s rules:

• Refundable fares or flights repriced within 24 hours of booking are generally refunded to your original payment method.
• Non-refundable fares booked more than 24 hours earlier typically entitle you to airline credit for future travel.
• Eligible award bookings may receive the difference back as miles or points. 

Important: JetBack’s FAQ section says the app secures savings without changing your reservation. But its Terms of Service allow JetBack to reticket or otherwise modify your booking whenever that’s necessary to ensure a refund or credit. It also says that JetBack isn’t responsible if those changes affect your seat assignment, fare class benefits, checked baggage allowance, boarding priority, elite status perks, or special requests. 

Terms of Service govern your subscription, so they carry more weight than the FAQ page. The contradiction doesn’t necessarily mean JetBack routinely changes reservations, but it does mean the company has the right to do so in situations where it believes it’s necessary to secure your savings. 

For a service operating on user trust, we’d expect that distinction to be communicated more consistently. 

Our verdict on JetBack

Throughout our JetBack review, we found inconsistencies in the company’s eligibility rules and treatment of reservations. 

None of this makes the service inherently unreliable, but it makes it difficult to fully understand what you’re paying for and what to expect before subscribing. 

If you’re considering JetBack, here’s a quick summary of the facts:

JetBack solves a real issue for travelers. Airlines change ticket prices constantly, and most travelers never check if they’re entitled to a credit or refund after booking. Automating that process has clear value, especially for frequent travelers who regularly book with U.S. airlines. 

However, even if the ticket price never drops or your flight doesn’t qualify for this particular service, you may still be entitled to compensation. 

Flight delays, cancellations, diversions, missed connections, denied boarding, or baggage delays are far more common reasons travelers qualify for compensation, refunds, or reimbursements. Depending on where you’re flying, those claims can be worth hundreds of dollars per passenger under regulations such as EU261 or Canada’s APPR. Yet, they’re outside JetBack’s scope.
