Watson Clinic - Data Breach Class Action Settlement

What Is the Watson Clinic Settlement About?

This lawsuit alleges that Watson Clinic LLP experienced a data security incident discovered in February 2024, during which an unauthorized third party gained access to certain systems containing private information of current and former patients.

According to the allegations, the compromised information may have included names, addresses, birthdates, Social Security numbers or similar government identifiers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, and medical information such as diagnoses, treatments, medical images, or medical record numbers. For some individuals, digital images were allegedly published on the dark web. Watson Clinic denies all allegations of wrongdoing or liability, and the settlement is not an admission of fault.

How Much Is the Watson Clinic Settlement Payout?

If you're eligible and file a claim, you may receive a cash payment, with amounts varying depending on your circumstances and how many people file valid claims.

The proposed settlement establishes a $10,000,000 non-reversionary settlement fund, which may provide:

  • Digital Image Cash Payments (no claim form required for eligible individuals), ranging from $100 up to $75,000, depending on the content and sensitivity of any published images
  • Reimbursement of Ordinary Out-of-Pocket Losses up to $500 per person
  • Extraordinary Losses and Attested Time, up to $6,500 per person, including up to five hours of time at $25 per hour
  • A Residual Cash Payment of up to $50, subject to available remaining funds

The final payout amount will vary based on the number of valid claims submitted and the category of benefits claimed.
