What Is the Precision Imaging Centers Settlement About?
This lawsuit alleges that Precision Imaging Centers failed to protect personal information during a cybersecurity event that occurred on or around November 2, 2022. During this incident, an unauthorized actor accessed Precision’s computer network and acquired sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) belonging to current and former patients and other individuals. The exposed information included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance details, medical conditions and diagnoses, other medical-related information, and dates of birth.
Precision Imaging Centers denies all wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case to avoid further litigation.
How Much Is the Precision Imaging Centers Settlement Payout?
If you're eligible and file a claim, you may receive a cash payment depending on the type of compensation you qualify for.
The settlement offers:
- Free identity protection and credit monitoring services
- Up to $500 in reimbursement for unreimbursed costs or expenditures related to responding to the cybersecurity event, including up to $80 in lost time
- Up to $5,000 for additional unreimbursed costs fairly traceable to the event, including up to $160 for lost time
The final payout amount will vary based on the number of valid claims submitted.
All claims are subject to a $200,000 aggregate cap and may be reduced pro rata if total claims exceed this limit.
