What Is the Disney Streaming TV Settlement About?
The lawsuit alleges that Disney violated federal antitrust law and various state antitrust and consumer-protection laws through conduct that fixed, raised, maintained or stabilized prices for streaming live-pay-TV services. Plaintiffs claim YouTube TV and DirecTV streaming subscribers paid more as a result. Disney denies the allegations, and the court has not decided who is right.
How Much Is the Disney Streaming TV Settlement Payout?
The exact payment is not yet known. After court-approved deductions, the net fund will be divided between valid claimants using the court-approved distribution plan:
- Cash payments are proportional to the length of each qualifying YouTube TV and/or DirecTV streaming subscription.
- Ninety percent of the net fund is allocated to claimants who resided in a listed repealer jurisdiction during the class period.
- Ten percent is allocated to claimants in the remaining jurisdictions.
A claimant with both services should include both subscriptions on one claim. The final amount depends on the number and location of valid claims and the approved deductions.
Am I Eligible to File a Claim?
You may qualify if, at any time from April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2026, you purchased a YouTube TV subscription or a DirecTV streaming live-pay-TV subscription branded as DirecTV Stream, DirecTV Now or AT&T TV Now. The official class definitions and exclusions control.
Is the Disney Streaming TV Settlement Legit?
Yes. Judge Edward J. Davila of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California is overseeing the settlement. Epiq administers the court-authorized website. Filing a claim is free.
When’s the Claim Deadline?
Submit the online claim or mail a completed claim form by September 8, 2026. The official site says online or mailed claims must meet that deadline; use the online confirmation or retain proof of mailing. The final approval hearing is scheduled for January 14, 2027.
Who Qualifies for the Disney Streaming TV Settlement?
The settlement is nationwide and covers individual consumers as well as qualifying business associations, entities and corporations that purchased the listed services during the class period. FuboTV subscribers are not covered by this partial settlement unless they also purchased one of the covered YouTube TV or DirecTV services.
How Do I File a Disney Streaming TV Settlement Claim Form?
Visit the official website and use the Unique ID and PIN from the email or postcard notice. If the notice is missing, contact the administrator for assistance. Complete the entire form, identify all qualifying subscriptions, sign the certification and keep the confirmation code. The administrator may compare the claim with data supplied by YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream and may request additional information.
